Covid 19 and health and safety within St Mary’s building

Covid 19 Compliance 

As of  AUGUST 9th 2020 it is law that face MASKS be worn within the church building.

Sanitising stations are in place at the entrance; Please sanitise your hands on your way into the building

Service books are available, regular members are encouraged to take a book home to look after and bring with you to subsequent services. Spare books are available for visitors which will have been ‘quarantined’ (untouched) for 72 hours.

Safe distancing is in place within the building.

Seating is by reservation and there will be a named seat for you. Our welcome host will show you to your seat. Please use the contact details on the welcome page to reserve your place. (6 visitors seats are available without reservation needed – for those spur of the moment times) 

There is a one-way system for walking around during communion, this is clearly marked on the floor.

The peace is shared with a friendly smile and a wave from your seat. 

During the Eucharist only the host (wafer) will be offered, no wine shall be offered.

Please follow the instructions about receiving the wafer during communion; this will be given in notices before the service begins. 

At the end of the service please leave via the one way system and only congregate at a safe distance when outside of the building. The priest will be available to speak with outside (unless it is pouring with rain)

The toilet is available and is cleaned with bleach after each service. A hand wash sink is adjacent to the toilet.
