Covid 19 and health and safety within St Mary’s building

Covid 19 Compliance

The Omicron Variant is having an impact on our daily lives, the church is no exception. We had begun to relax, a little,  whilst still risk assessing each service or activity inside the building. We have now returned to our high-risk level and are once again strictly implementing all Covid compliance rules and guidelines. This keeps us all as safe as possible.

Mainland Scotland moved beyond level ‘0’ as of the 9th of August ’21

It is still the law that face MASKS  are worn within the church building.

Sanitizing stations are in place at the entrance; Please sanitize your hands on your way into the building

Service books are used and are available to all. After the Sunday service, the books are left untouched for 72 hours

Social distancing rules are in place.

There is a one-way system within the building.

The peace is shared with a friendly smile and a wave from your seat. We may keep this as a new tradition!

During the Eucharist only the host (wafer) will be offered, no wine shall be offered at this present time.

Masks may be removed at the point of receiving the wafer and put back on to return to your place.

At the end of the service please consider staying for refreshments. If you don’t like coffee ask for tea or squash…we aim to please. Masks are removed whilst enjoying our coffee and cake!!! at the tables.

The toilet is available and is cleaned after each service. A hand wash sink is adjacent to the toilet.

If in doubt about anything related to our Covid 19 compliance please ask the welcome host or email us before the service. We are trying to keep up with the fast-paced changes too so please be patient.
